Hiccup and toothless

Well since people with regular memberships can't give critiques (grumble grumble grumble), I'll do a little of that here. The overall linework is fantastic. Love it. You really captured the characters and their emotions and created an enjoyable piece of art. However it all looks very flat! You didn't seem to agree on where the light source was coming from and only shaded direct shadows (places where it is darkest). In real life the shading goes beyond that with hundreds of different shades for a single image. I'm not saying you have to do that much, I personally don't, but a little more variation on the color to add dimension and life is good. Don't forget shadows and highlights! Now for a little about backrounds. Its true, everyone hates drawing them. They suck. Yours isn't bad, but there is always room for improvement! What makes a piece of art fantastic is its background and how it interacts with the object of your drawing. Like I said before, the shading is key. Where is your light source? How out of focus is the backgroud? What is in it? Add colors and go crazy, but make sure it never draws from the foreground, but adds to it.
Now for eyes/emotion. I loved the emotion you put into the eyebrows, but they eye itself is where the true emotion lies. Always shade the eye just like you do the body. Add highlights as well!
Keep drawing and never let anyone stop you! You have great talent, and I can only imagine how epic your talents will be in the near future.
